Programs

Inshindo Foundation initially focused on raising community promoters through the Preparation for Social Action Program. As community awareness grew, the foundation expanded its efforts, creating programs like Community Schools, Community Agriculture, and Environmental Health. Recently, it is exploring the revival of the family and community health program.

Preparation for Social Action (PSA) Program

The PSA program is a community-based education initiative designed to raise promoters of community well-being. Following the Bahá'í principle that "education is worship," it integrates academic learning with practical skills and service-oriented activities, fostering both spiritual and intellectual growth.

Key Components

  • Texts: Twelve PSA texts grouped into six blocks focus on capabilities in language, mathematics, science, and community life processes, all guided by spiritual principles.
  • Tutors: Trained facilitators guide participants through study sessions, practical activities, and community projects, embodying the spirit of service.
  • Groups: Peer groups foster collaborative learning at the community level, reflecting the Bahá'í emphasis on consultation and unity.
  • Community Engagement: Participants apply their learning through service activities that address local challenges, putting into practice the principle that "work done in the spirit of service is worship.

Community Schools Program (CSP)

The CSP promotes early childhood education by working with communities to establish schools and train teachers, recognizing that education is essential for both material and spiritual progress. Our approach emphasizes the development of both intellectual capabilities and spiritual qualities in children.

Key Components

  • Training community school teachers in holistic education methods
  • Developing networks for mutual support among schools
  • Collaborating with like-minded organizations
  • Strengthening access to early childhood education

Community Agriculture Program (CAP)

The CAP program seeks to enhance the interaction of scientific knowledge with the experience and wisdom of local farmers to generate appropriate technologies relevant to the reality of each community. These technologies take into consideration the health and prosperity of the population as well the long-term health of the environment. This interaction leads to a local institution known as a Centre for Community Agriculture that ensures that the community continuously accesses, applies, generates, and disseminates knowledge.

Key Components

  • Training farmers in climate-smart agricultural practices
  • Organizing seminars at the Centre for Community Agriculture (CCA)
  • Demonstration plots for hands-on learning
  • Extension services for farmers

Environmental Health Program (EHP)

The EHP addresses environmental preservation through two key projects, reflecting our spiritual responsibility to care for the environment:

Key Components

  • Tree Planting Project (TREEPP): Promotes planting fruit trees and indigenous species to improve environmental health.
  • Waste Management Project (WAMP): Advocates proper waste disposal at household and community levels to reduce pollution.

Family and Community Health Program (FCH)

This program seeks to enhance family life by developing health promoters and raising awareness about critical family health issues within communities, guided by Bahá'í teachings on the importance of family unity and community well-being.
